Mistakes are Good

By Peter Getman
Principal Brand Director

The only common denominator of creative people is that they are creative. There is no right way to create. It is in the different approaches to creative thinking and working together that result in extraordinary solutions to real problems that really matter.

The trick as a brand and Internet marketing agency Principal is to create a culture where failure is ok.

Mistakes are good.

Why? Simple.

You’re one step closer to dreaming up a truly unique big idea worth millions of dollars.

Instead of firing a person for making a big mistake, fire a person for not making a mistake.

Instead of firing a person for breaking the rules, fire someone for always following the rules.

Fire a person for never arguing with you; these people are replaceable.

Do this once, and you are well on your way to nurturing a creative culture stuffed with thinkers that solve very valuable problems, creatively.

This blog entry is influenced by the question I asked during session I attended today with Seth Godin in NYC this morning.
